Yoga can be a good addition to a workout routine. One form of yoga has been proven to especially be of benefit to runner and other athletes.

According to Real Hot Yoga’s website, Yin yoga targets the body’s ligaments and deep tissue to lengthen the limbs.

One class, and you’ll see what they mean. Yin yoga is often used for relaxation. Each stretch is held anywhere from three to five minutes, and participants are encouraged to breath into any part of the body that feels pain.

The result is not only a leaner body, but a more flexible, readily available body. The class is encouraged after a hard workout, but can also be used beforehand to properly stretch.

Many people with injuries actually attend Yin Yoga, as instructors will often help students target the area that is hurt.

So next time you have an injury or simply want to enhance your fitness ability, look into taking a Yin class.
